General Guidelines for Administration of Relocation Policy:
- Relocation assistance up to a maximum of $5,000 Canadian shall be available for new employees who are traveling to their place of employment in Vancouver. To be eligible for this amount, the employee must be relocating from other provinces outside of BC or other countries.
- The relocation assistance is a forgivable loan and shall be paid back to the employer (on a pro-rated basis) should the recipient terminate their employment before the end of one year, or not fulfill their obligation as outlined in the offer letter.
The following expenses are eligible for relocation assistance up to the maximum approved by the Employer. Anything not included is not covered. Original receipts must be kept and submitted to the employer to be eligible for reimbursement.
- Moving of household goods by a professional mover
- Air travel for employee, and immediate family members whom will be relocating to Vancouver with the employee (note: only one-way air travel is covered. If the cost of return fair is lower than one way, VCH will reimburse half the cost of the return flight).
- First month's rent or temporary lodging upon arrival in Vancouver
- Cost of immigration medical examination
- Canadian High Commission - Employment Authorization for the employee (Work Permit)
- Cost of qualifying/upgrading course(s) required for employee to obtain CRNBC/CRPNBC eligibility (note that processing and registration fees are not covered). *Subject to offer of employment
- Cost of Emergency medical coverage during first three months of employment (can be purchased upon arrival in Vancouver).
- Vancouversider Relocation services (optional, but recommended - see Vancouversider Packages, below)
All other expenses are the responsibility of the new employee. All reimbursement is in the form of a forgivable loan, forgiven upon completion of a 1-year commitment. Maximum of $5,000 Canadian applies.

Fees include the following services:
- Pre-correspondence or telephone contact
- Arrangement for temporary accommodation for first month (costs of accommodation may vary; will discuss availability and ranges with employee)
- Pickup from airport and delivery to temporary accommodation
- Food basket
- Transit map
- $5.00 telephone card
- City of Vancouver map
- Pick up at accommodation next day and take to HRDC to apply for social insurance number
- Pick up and assist with registration process for school aged children
- Take to employer to complete any necessary paperwork
- General advice – transportation options etc.

A flat rate fee of $75 per hour for the Van and Driver will be charged when only a portion of the services provided are requested. An example would be just picking up only at the airport or other location with no other services being requested then the flat rate would apply.
Pets
We realize that pets are very important to your new employees. Vancouversider Enterprises Inc. will go the extra mile to ensure that the Pets are taken care of. To provide this service we charge a flat rate fee for transportation. However if it is required that there will be an extra trip to pick up the pet from cargo then a flat rate fee will apply also.
